As a coach, I serve as a support and trusted partner to parents who feel somehow stuck, stressed or disconnected within their family life or within interactions with their child. I provide structures and strategies to gently guide parents toward their own inner wisdom, understanding and growth. Each individual family has different strengths and challenges, so I structure my sessions and support to meet the needs of every unique family and its members. Through our sessions, parents discover new perspectives and strategies for bringing calm, connection and ease back to family life. They also develop a greater understanding of parenting that is aligned with psychological research, social-emotional development, brain science and neurodevelopment.
Self-reflection is a powerful tool used in coaching. It helps you understand where you are, where you were, and where you want to be- especially when it comes to parenting. Through reflection, I can help you recognize the practices that get you closer to being the parent you truly want to be.
Perspective is the way we see the world. It comes from our personal point of view and it's been shaped by all our life experiences, values, our current state of mind, our assumptions, and a lot of other things. Through coaching, it is helpful to understand how we developed these ideas and how they shaped us as people and parents.
Family life demands so much from us and our children need us in different ways as they grow and mature. No one is perfect. We all have to work on our parenting skills every step of the way. Parenting is a practice and having a coach alongside you provides additional tools for your toolbox.
Underlying Beliefs are the beliefs we have learned which are often automatic. These beliefs can be negative or positive. Together, we will examine Negative Underlying Beliefs that may be sabotaging your efforts.
Parents observe their children through a filter of conscious and unconscious thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes. In coaching, we can strip away filters that create misperceptions and misunderstandings. By questioning and reflecting, we can begin to see our children more clearly.
It is so important to celebrate the small successes in parenting. As a coach, I am strongly committed to helping you stay oriented toward growth and solutions. I'll be cheering you on with every step!
Children and teens both experience tremendous social and emotional growth and therefore have very specific developmental needs. Their brains are developing at a rapid pace which rivals that of toddlerhood. The pandemic has set up conditions which have been truly difficult for so many of our young people. At this crucial time, our children need social-emotional, behavioral and mental health support more than ever. As a coach, I provide them with much needed support, tools and encouragement for the many feelings, experiences and needs that are occurring during this often precarious, but exciting time.
Clients typically start out working with me weekly. My hour long sessions are $150 and held over Zoom. I recommend committing to three months of work together because that allows us to build a critical level of trust, as well as an opportunity to meaningfully explore important topics and generate new patterns of growth. Once my clients feel sturdy in new patterns, they often choose to continue on a bi-weekly or monthly basis to further their growth and navigate new challenges.
